HIGHLAND Glutinous Rice/Beras Pulut is a medium-grain variety native to the indigenous Lun Bawang tribe from Ba’kelalan and Lawas in the Borneo Highlands, Sarawak. The rice is cultivated traditionally in a cool, unpolluted environment (1000m above sea level) and is irrigated by pristine clear mountain waters.
Glutinous rice is also called ‘sticky rice’ or ‘sweet rice’, which is ideal for Asian delicacies such as lemang (cooked in bamboo), rice cakes, dumplings and desserts. The Kenyalang Highland Glutinous Rice is easy to digest without causing stomach discomfort. The rice is aromatic, with a soft and sticky texture and a touch of sweetness when cooked.
